Terms of use
Last updated: 1 November 2026
These terms apply to the Inky app. Inky is made by Appfex Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12892382), registered office 167-169 GREAT PORTLAND STREET, 5TH FLOOR, LONDON, GREATER LONDON, W1W 5PF, ENGLAND (“we”, “us”). By using Inky, you agree to these terms. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If the two disagree, these terms apply, as far as Apple's agreement allows.
Who Inky is for
Inky is for children to use with a parent or carer. A parent or carer should set it up, and only an adult should make purchases. If you let a child use Inky, you're responsible for their use of it.
What Inky does
Your child describes a picture, Inky checks that the request is suitable for children, and an AI image model draws an original black-and-white colouring page that you can print.
- Pages are drawn by AI, so they won't always be perfect. Now and then a picture may not match what was asked for, or may have small mistakes. Please have a look before handing a page to your child.
- Inky won't draw some requests, such as anything scary, violent, unkind or meant for adults. It also draws original pictures rather than well-known characters from films, TV, games or books, and suggests a fun alternative instead.
Pages, subscriptions and page packs
- Free pages: new devices get 3 free pages, then a new free page every week. Free pages don't build up: you can hold one weekly page at a time.
- Subscriptions give 60 pages a month, shared by everyone using the device. Monthly pages that aren't used don't carry over to the next month. Yearly subscribers also get 60 pages each month.
- Page packs are one-off purchases. Pack pages never run out.
- Free redraws: if you don't like a page, you can ask Inky to draw it again once, free of charge.
- Failed pages are refunded. If a page can't be drawn, the page you spent is given back automatically.
Pages and page packs belong to the device they were bought on and can't be exchanged for money. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
Payments, renewals and cancelling
All purchases are made through Apple's App Store and charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad. Refunds are handled by Apple: you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Using the pages
You may print, colour, copy and share the pages Inky draws for personal, non-commercial use, such as at home, with family and friends, at a party or in a classroom. Please don't sell them or use them in products for sale. Pages are made by AI, and the law on ownership of AI-generated images is still developing, so we can't promise that a page is unique or that nobody else has rights in something similar.
Fair use
Please don't misuse Inky. In particular, don't try to get it to draw harmful or inappropriate pictures, don't interfere with or overload the service, don't use modified copies of the app, and don't try to get free pages you aren't entitled to. To keep Inky working for everyone, there's a limit on how many pages can be made in a short time. We may suspend a device that's being misused.
Changes and availability
We work hard to keep Inky running, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change or improve the app. If we ever close Inky down, we'll give reasonable notice, and you can ask us about unused pack pages.
Our responsibility to you
We're responsible for losses you suffer that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, or for business losses: Inky is for personal use. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or the law changes. If a change is important, we'll let you know in the app or on this page before it takes effect.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or another country, you can also bring a claim in your local courts, and you keep the protections of your local consumer law. If you have a problem, please contact us first: most things can be sorted out quickly.
